Happy Easter!

I love Easter. It is one of my favorite holidays! It is such a perfect time to reflect on the life and works of our Savior, and to give thanks for the sacrifice he made for us so many years ago, so that we can live with him again! We were able to go to the Easter Pageant with my family this year and I am so grateful for that experience. The spirit was so strong as we sat and watched a play on the life of the Savior. I am so grateful to him for all he has done so that I can live him again. My love for my Savior grows everyday, and I am so grateful we have a day to reflect and remember the amazing things he did on this earth so many years ago.

Happy Birthday Benny Boo!

Yesterday Benson turned 17. I can't believe how old he is getting! When I first came into the family Benson was only 12 almost 13, and now he is 17 and a junior in high school... So crazy! Benson is an awesome football player, Bruce and I love watching him play and he is a lot of fun to be around. Here are some things we love about Benson!

1. He has a strong testimony in the gospel.
2. He is really fun to hang out with.
3. He is very thoughtful and is always looking out for his family.
4. Bruce loves playing basketball with him!

Projects Galore!!!

The past few days I have been going crazy with sewing! My mother-in-law taught me how to make some baby blankets, so I have been making tons of blankets! There are a couple I have fallen in love with, so I am going to keep them for our future kids...But the rest I will be giving away! I have also been making matching burp clothes which are so much fun!

This is my favorite boy blanket... I am in love with all the little nursery rhymes on it! This is a keeper.

I gave this blanket to my niece Kylie. She loved it!

Kylie loved the bright colors and kept playing peek-a-boo with the blanket, and loved the ties! She was so cute with it.

These are the burp clothes I made, the edges are frayed.

While Bruce was watching tv I decided to try something different, I crochet stitched the edge in different colors!

Last night I was able to take a fun class with my Mother-in-Law! Minnie was the teacher and she is so talented, I am so glad I was able to meet her! Isn't this the cutest craft apron??? I love it!

The Hoover Dam

On the way home from Las Vegas we had to drive through the Hoover Dam. I had always heard about it, but it was so cool to see it in person! Here it is...

Happy Birthday Colton!

Yesterday was my little brother's 19th Birthday! Bruce and I drove home from Vegas to surprise him! I am so grateful to have Colton in my life. We have always been so close, I remember when we were little we couldn't do anything without each other. Colton has always been the person I could go to with all my problems and he would help me through them and lift my self esteem. If I am ever having a bad day I can always go to him, and he instantly makes everything better! Here are a few reasons why I love Colton!

1. He has a heart of gold. He will do anything for anyone.
2. He has such a strong testimony and it totally shows. You look at him and he is glowing!
3. I always tell him, he will be the best husband in the world. Seriously... The girl he marries is so lucky!

Argentine Restaurant!!!

The day before Bruce and I came home from Las Vegas we were able to go to an Argentine Restaurant. Bruce looked it up online and had to go try it. The food was pretty good, but it wasn't as good as Bruce has been bragging about for the past 4 years. I think I just had my expectations a little too high. Now he is determined to find an Argentine restaurant in Arizona! I am really glad I was finally able to try the food he is always talking about though, Bruce was in heaven!

To pass the time...

While Bruce has been at work, I have been watching a lot of old movies! My favorite actress is Doris Day. I just love her! I have almost all of her movies, and they are all my favorites! There are a few other old actresses I love, but none of them compare to Doris Day to me. I grew up watching Doris Day at my Grandma Sue's house. We use to lay there for hours watching her movies. Ever since then I can't get enough of her! My brothers have always teased me because I love old movies so much! I think they are so much better than the movies they make now, they are clean and wholesome!

Who knew laundry could be so fun!

Since we are currently living in an extended stay, and there is not a washer and dryer in our room I have been dreading to do the laundry. The thought of having to go sit in a yucky laundry room by myself and pay money to wash our clothes just did not sound fun to me. So since I have been dreading it, I have failed to wash our clothes and we finally were starting to run out of clean clothes so Bruce and I decided to go wash our clothes together yesterday. We had to get all the quarters we could find and walk over to the laundry room. We decided to bring our favorite card game Flinch to pass the time. Who knew doing the laundry could be so much fun! I wish Bruce could accompany me in all my household duties. Needless say, I would be happy to pay $1.50 to use one washing machine anytime if my husband would join me!

Today is my Mother-In-Laws Birthday! I am so lucky to have such an amazing Mother-In-Law! Not only is she talented with everything she does, she is extremely sweet! Bruce and I have come up with a few things we love about Racheel...

Today is Bruce's 26th Birthday! I know I say this a lot, but I honestly have the best husband in the world! Bruce is a one of a kind guy, and I am so lucky to have him in my life. There are countless reason's why I love him, but here are 26!

Viva Las Vegas

Nothing much is new with us. We are in Vegas. We are living in an Extended Stay Hotel and it is quite interesting. I never knew how amazing a garbage disposal was until I didn't have one. There is an old man that has been here since November and has come every year for the past 10 years, and Bruce has made good friends with him (he makes friends with anyone and everyone!) It took me a little while to get use to living in a hotel, but it works! Bruce is doing really good in sales. He leaves for work around 3pm and comes home around 7 or 8pm so I'm not alone too much...

There are some amazing hotels and casino's right by us. I have never been in a casino before and so Bruce took me to Sunset Station. It was amazing, it has anything and everything you can think of. It was fun to walk around and see what a casino looked like.
We bought season 5 and 6 of 24 and have been watching it the past week. We now want to get a bumper sticker that says Jack Bauer for president! haha. We seriously are obsessed, and cannot wait for season 7 to come out on dvd!

Other than that we have just been hanging out and enjoying our time together! I am so grateful to be with my husband again. We'll keep you updated!

Two Years

Bruce and I had our 2nd Anniversary on Sunday. Since it was Sunday we celebrated on Saturday! It was the best day ever. All along Bruce told me he wouldn't be home until Saturday night, so I didn't think we would really be able to do anything special for our Anniversary... Well Friday night Bruce came home early and surprised me. What a amazing surprise! I was so happy. Saturday was so much fun! We went to visit both of our parents since Bruce hadn't seen them for awhile, and then we exchanged gifts. Bruce got me season 1 & 2 of I Love Lucy and that was the best gift ever! He also got me a few other things, but I have wanted I love Lucy forever! Then we went to Barnes and Noble so I could check out their old movies, and then we went home and relaxed for awhile. For dinner we went to The Melting Pot and it was delicious! It is all fondue, and it was a lot of fun. The day couldn't have been better. It was just perfect!
I am so grateful for the past 2 years of my life. Seriously, they have been the best. I have the most amazing husband that does so much for me. He does so many little things for me, and I can't wait to see the amazing dad he will be to our future children. A lot of people say the first few years of marriage are hard, but I have to disagree. I love married life and I love being Bruce's wife! I am so lucky to have my best friend as my husband, and eternal companion! I love you babe, Happy Anniversary!

only TWO more days

I am soooo excited! These past three weeks have been the longest, and hardest of my life and there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. I get to see Bruce on SATURDAY!!! He left to go sale alarm systems in Dallas, Texas almost 4 weeks ago, and I stayed behind because my little brother was going through the Temple and we thought we would only be apart for a week. Well things started getting complicated with the apartment situation and he is now in Las Vegas (until the summer) so I wasn't able to go out.

Our Anniversary is on Sunday, and Bruce needs to sign some more people up to go sale this summer so he is coming down on Saturday, and then we will BOTH go back to Vegas on Monday or Tuesday.

Can I just say I am so excited! I really don't remember the last time I have been this excited about something. I am even getting nervous! haha, I feel like I'm in high school again saying, "Mom what should I wear on Saturday when I see Bruce, I want to look really good." Although the last 4 weeks have honestly been so hard, there have been days that I just break down and cry all day long because I miss him so much, I am so grateful for this experience! It has made me so grateful for my amazing husband, and it makes me want to be such a better wife! Don't get me wrong, I have had alot of fun hanging out with my family and I am so grateful they were there to distract me and love me even when I started getting cranky (I seem to do that when I don't see my husband for a long period of time)... But life just isn't complete without Bruce by my side.
