Pumpkin Girl!

Okay so I saw this idea on Pinterest and was kinda nervous to do it because I thought Bristyn would hate it... and she LOVED it!  She tried eating the pumpkin the entire time and thought it was funny to touch the slimmy stuff.  She makes me laugh!  We are so excited for her to celebrate her first Halloween!!!

Tonight my parents babysat Bristyn and Justin's kids so Bruce and I could go out with Justin and Katrina.  Dakota and Gunnar had a school carnival so my parents took the kids there and they said Bris loved it!!  By the end of the night she was pooped and ready to go home, but had alot of fun!  We had a lot of fun with Justin and Katrina!  We went to the Keg and then walked around the mall for a little while..  Thanks mom and dad for watching all the cute kiddos!

Thursdays at Grammie and Grandpa's!

Every Thursday we go over to Bruce's parents house because it is his dad's day off.  It is so much fun to hang out with the family... and Bristyn LOVES Rhett.  They are seriously so cute together..  Rhett is always patting her, or giving her hugs and kisses.  It's adorable!  Today we took a nap with daddy, spied on aunt Brecken, swung on the swing outside, ate (of course) and just played with Rhett.  We love Thursdays!

I'm dreading November

Would you like to hear my month of November????????????  I was just looking at the calendar and it makes me sick to my stomach.

November 2 - November 12.... Bruce has a hunt in Colorado
November 15 - November 19... Bruce has to go to New Mexico for work.
November 24 - November 29... Bruce will be up in Williams, AZ for Brecken's hunt.. Bris and I might go on this one..

Can I just say I am DREADING November.. and to be honest I am kinda bitter about it... Oh well story of my life!  Don't worry he has another work trip, and hunt in December too :)  Lucky me.

bath time!

My mom was babysitting Rocky last night, so we decided to throw them in the bath together for a little cousin bath time :)  I think Bristyn was a little weirded out to have someone else in the bath with her, but they are so cute together and had fun!   I just love these two little ones so much!!! Rocky is the sweetest little boy.

Well Bristyn can stand on her own!  You have to get her up on her feet, but she will stand there for a good little while..  She even tried to take a step tonight!  I can't believe my baby is so big...

a little update..

I haven't updated about what is going on with us lately so I figured I would...

Bruce is busy working, and trying to get recruits for next summer..  I am proud of him, he actually has a few guys so far and most of them are married so I am so excited to have lots of wives out there to hang out!  It's funny to think when all this started I swore I would never do another summer, and he we are already talking about our 6th summer and we just finished our 5th.  Bruce is going to manage this year and I know he will do awesome!  Other than work, he is getting ready for some hunts... ahhh the dreaded hunts are about to start.  He leaves for Colorado in about a week and a half, then his little sister Brecken has a hunt the end of November and the whole family is going up... Then he has another one the beginning of December in Texas.  Ugh!!!  He loves it though so I can't complain.

I am just busy being a full time mommy.. It is honestly the best job in the entire world.  Exhausting, but so much fun.  Other than that I have fun making play dates with Bristyn's cousins, spending as much time with Bruce as possible, and I like to throw some crafts in there when I have time.  Did I mention I am totally LOVING my new car Bruce bought me???  It's amazing to be able to go anywhere anytime I want! haha...

Bristyn is still so much fun..  She is growing so fast and doing new things everyday.  She amazes me more and more.. Can I just say that girl can eat!  On a regular day, she eats 6 jars of baby food, a yogurt, 4-5 bottles (4-6 ounces each) and then snacks on random fruit, puffs, and yogurt melts throughout the day.  It amazes us how much she can consume, Bruce and I laugh about it daily.  You would think she would be the chunkiest thing around.  We weighed her tonight and she weighs 18.8 pounds.  She is finally done being sick.... It got pretty rough for a while there but I think she is finally better..  I saw her Dr. more than I wanted to (we love him!) and he finally got her better...  She has honestly been sick since we came back for my brothers wedding a month ago. She would get sick then better then sick like 2 days later...  She was on the verge of croup, had an ear infection, bad cough, and roseola.  It was crazy!  On and got 2 teeth in the middle of all of that.. And you would have never guessed she was sick, she is such a happy baby!  Crazy... but happy!  She defiantly keeps us busy, I swear the girl doesn't stop.

Just recently (6 days ago) my sister-in-law Katrina lost her dad Phil Chiles..  It was so unexpected.. he had a heart attack while in the hospital.  It has really put us in perspective and made us realize what is important.  He was a bishop, and such a great man...one of a kind.  I have know him for half my life, and he was always soooo sweet to me. I will miss him so much.  Ever since Justin and Katrina got married her family has been like our family, we have been really close with them.   I am just so grateful for the gospel and for the opportunity we have to live with our loved ones again... I am so grateful for the knowledge of the plan of salvation.  It has made me realize to never take a moment with Bruce (or our families) for granted, cause it can go so fast.

Other than that we are just having fun and making as many memories with our little family as possible!  We are so lucky.

Bristyn has Roseola

My poor baby has Roseola.  While we were up at the cabin she got her first fever and was sick for 3 days... When we woke up Sunday morning she had really lite dots on the back of her neck, and while the day went on the bumps got all over her body but they were really light.. I called the doctor last night and he told me it sounds like Roseola and that it would go away soon.  Well we woke up this morning and the dots were 10 times worse and all over her body.  I called the doctor again and he told me to come in... sure enough it is Roseola.  

How we understood it from our doctor is... The baby will get a fever for about 3 days (which she did) and then when they seem to be doing good a rash will appear on their body and last a few days..  Roseola is not contagious baby to baby..  An adult that kisses Bristyn had it as a child (my mother in law said one of her kids had it, and thinks it was Bruce) and passed it on to her.  I guess when the rash goes away the virus goes up into the saliva glands, and stays there so as an adult if you kiss a baby they can get it.  Bristyn can't pass it on to another baby, but there is a good chance she will pass it onto her babies.  Luckily the rash only stays for a couple days and everything is okay!

I am just so glad the rash doesn't bother her at all, I hate seeing my baby sick... and luckily she doesn't act sick at all anymore!  

Weekend at the Cabin!

We had a chance to go up to my parents cabin in Flagstaff with my brother Chad, his wife Jessica, and my parents!    It was a lot of fun, and very relaxed!  We hung out, watched movies, played games, ate, and talked.  Our poor little Bristyn was in the process of getting over a bad ear infection (her first) a cough, and she got her first fever on Friday night.. Let me just tell you I was a freaked out mommy..  I hate that babies can get sick.  My poor little girl has been fighting a sickness for awhile now..  She woke up this morning with a rash all over her body..  ugh, I hate it!  But other than that, we had alot of fun.. and Bristyn loved being up there!  She loves being outside, so it was fun to get her out in the cool air.  I love it when we are able to go up to the cabin, and it was Bristyn's firs time up there so it made everything that much better..  Now we can't wait to go up again!  Thanks mom and dad for the fun weekend!

24.

Hmmm I don't know how I feel about being 24.  It has been such a good birthday though!  I have such a sweet hubby, that went out of his way to make it special for me.. and a sweet baby girl that makes everything better.   We went to lunch with my parents (thanks for everything!) hung out as a little family, Bruce let me take a nap.. and then Bruce and I had a fun date night that started at Target, then Scottsdale Mall... and ended at Mastro's City Hall in Scottsdale.. It was so much fun to get out with just Bruce and to enjoy the small things.  I feel like the luckiest girl in the world!  

Poor Bristyn has been having a rough couple of days... She has had a pretty bad cough so I took her to the doctor yesterday, and she has a bad ear infection as well as a cold.. We got cough medicine, and antibiotics.. so hopefully she gets better really soon!  I have to say the worst thing in the world is to have a sick baby.. I feel so bad for her!  I am so lucky though, she is such a good sick baby... Honestly if she wasn't coughing so much you would have no idea she was sick at all.  She is such a sweet baby.

8 Months!!!

First off I want to apologize for the overload of pictures... I couldn't pick just one.  We went up to Woods Canyon Lake for a little picnic with Bruce's family today and had so much fun!  Bristyn LOVES being outside, and it was so nice to get out of the heat.  Bruce was sad he couldn't fish, but that just means we have to go up again really soon ;)

Bristyn turned 8 months old today, and let me just tell you... in just 8 short months that little girl has stolen our hearts.  She is the sweetest little thing in the world, and I feel so honored to be her mother.  She has us laughing all day long, and melts our hearts every time she gives us loves.  We feel like the luckiest parents in the world!

Things Bristyn is doing at 8 months

-Eats anything and everything in sight. 

-Loves feeding herself puffs

-Has two bottom teeth! (she finally got them, and they came in 1 week apart... every time she smiles it just melts my heart with those two little teeth)

-Licks EVERYTHING!!!

-Claps

-Is starting to wave goodbye

-Is very attached to Mommy... won't let me out of her sight.

-Lights up the second Daddy walks in the room!

-Says mom!!!!  But only when she is tried, or just needs my attention.

-LOVES balls..  She attacks any ball in sight.  That's what she gets for having mostly boy cousins.

-LOVES cousin time..  She seriously loves playing with all of her cousins.

-Will eat half her bottle, then needs a little play time.. after about 5-10 minutes she will come back to finish it.

-Stands alone for a few seconds.

-Walks along the couch, or with a walker.

-Speed crawls.

-Loves attacking people's heads if you lay down on the ground... its hilarious.  

LOVES hair.. ugh! haha

-She is starting to realize what the word no means...

-If you hold her she will ignore you, but the second you hand her off she will stare at you. haha

-Still smiles all day long, I love it!

Seriously we are so lucky... Bristyn is amazing and we are head over heels in love with our little angel!  She really is the best gift Heavenly Father could ever give us.
