Christmas 2012

We had an incredible Christmas this year...  What more could we ask for??? We were able to spend the day with our kids, and both our families!  Bruce and I always exchange gifts on Christmas Eve.. It's something we have done since we were first married..  I gave him a gun, and he surprised me and had a custom mirror made for me.  I have wanted one of these mirrors for years.. they are super expensive so I could never bring myself to spend the money on one..  He has known how much I have wanted one and called and had one made.. Needless to say I was completely shocked.. to the point it brought tears to my eyes to see that he got me something I have wanted for so long..  I am pretty sure I have the sweetest/cutest husband in the world!!!  and as for the mirror, it is so stunningly beautiful.  I am pretty sure it is my absolute favorite Christmas gift I have ever received

As for the Christmas festivities... We spent Christmas Eve at g&g Lamb's house and had alot of fun over there... then we woke up bright and early, woke Bristyn up and let her open her gifts.. we got her a play kitchen and some fun stuff to go with it and she absolutely LOVES it..  We were talking today that we are so grateful she loves it so much, and totally shocked!  We got Bo just a few small things because he is so little and doesn't need very much.  We had to be at my parents house at 8am sharp.. so we did our usual movie on the true meaning of Christmas and then opened presents.. we were so excited to get a sun oven!  After that we headed over to Bruce's parents house around 10am and we opened presents over there and played our annual Brooks family lotto and games.. we look forward to these games every year... and I have to say this is the first year I didn't win one of them haha.  After that we headed over to g&g Riggs, and then headed home for naps (we were exhausted!!!)  After we woke up from our family nap we drove by a house we are looking at buying and then headed back over to my in laws to watch Toy Story.  Overall it was an amazing day and we are so grateful for all that everyone did for us and our kids..  It was a perfect Christmas full of lots of family time!

As this year comes to a close we are so grateful for all we have been blessed with this year, and for our dear sweet Savior.. for the chance we have to celebrate his birth and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.
