Baltimore here we come!!!

Well after a lot of thought Bruce and I have decided that we are going to Baltimore, Maryland for the summer. Bruce will be selling Security Systems. Totally random, we know but after a lot of thought and prayer we have decided this is the best thing. Good news though...It will only be for 3 months instead of 6! haha. We will be leaving sometime in May. We will keep everyone updated!

Our Splurge Items

Alright here are 10 things we like to splurge on, and 10 things we don't splurge on! Can I just say this was so hard... It took us like a week to think of all these!

...10 things i DO splurge on...
1. Home Decor stuff. I love it, and I love all Home Decor stores...
2. Scrapbook stuff. Or what Bruce likes to call it "Crapbook Stuff" Good thing Bruce's mom is as obsessed with scrapbooking as I am because Bruce is use to the Scrapbooking Splurges!
3. Movies! I love movies and everytime I go to the store I am so tempted to get one. Bruce always has to stop me! haha. When we were in Boston we came home with so many movies.
4. My hair. I am a hair stylist so I like to keep my hair looking good. I go nuts when I get regrowth, so I get my hair colored often and my friend Jessica does an awesome job!
5. Jeans. Although I would never spend $200 on a pair of Jeans, I usually spend about $100 or a little under.
6. Books! I LOVE reading so anytime I see a book that interests me I have to buy it. Bruce about passed out when he saw how many books I have!
7. Gifts for people. I LOVE buying gifts and Bruce always has to put a limit or I would end up spending $100 before I realized it. I just love getting that "perfect" gift.
8. Jewelry. I love necklaces and earrings!
9. Mesa's Frozen Yogurt! I love it and crave it ALL the time!
10. Shampoo. Crazy I know, but I love the S-Factor shampoo. The bottle is half the size of a normal bottle and twice the price (even with my discount), but I love it. Every time I wash my hair Bruce comments about how good it smells.

...10 things i DON'T splurge on...
1. Clothes. I am not the biggest fan of shopping, so I don't go to the mall very often.
2. Makeup. I'm not the type of girl that wears a lot of makeup. I wear my base, mascara, and eye liner and that's about it. Sometimes a little blush. I try to look as natural as possible.
3. Shoes. Anyone that knows me is very aware that I only wear flip flops. (the cheap ones at least)
4. Groceries. We try to keep it simple.
5. socks. I think I have like 2 pairs of socks because I always wear flip flops.
6. Fruit. Although it is my favorite thing in the world, every time I go to buy it I look at the price and think are you kidding me!
7. The Movie Theater. It is very rare that we go out to the movies and if we do it is because we have gift cards. We usually rent movies.
8. Pop. I don't really like pop, so I hardly ever have it.
9. Medicine. We only buy it if we are dying!
10. Everything that is on Bruce's list...

...Things he DOES splurge on...
1. Hunting Equipment. His second home is Sportsman's Warehouse, Bass Pro, & Cabela's
2. Ice Cream. He LOVES the stuff and eats it any chance he gets.
3. Hunting Trips & Tags. The man loves to hunt!
4. Hunting Boots. He seriously has like 4 pair in our closet.
5. Things for me. We always set a limit and he always goes over.
6. School. Although this is a good thing, it is one of our biggest splurge items!

...Things he DOESN'T splurge on...
1. Clothes. He never wants new clothes!
2. Name Brand stuff. He always gets the off brand stuff because it's a little bit cheaper.
3. Going into debt. Bruce is really good about living within our means and I look up to him for that.
4. Expensive Cars. Bruce has never had to have the top of the line new car. He usually buys used cars and he even tries to pay cash for them so we don't have to be in debt.
5. Electronics. Bruce doesn't think it is smart to get a new electronic whenever something new comes out.

We challenge everyone to do this, it is so hard!

Valentines Day!

Our Valentines Day was very simple, and very good. I had to work all day and Bruce was at school all day...so I was not too excited, but to my suprise Bruce sent me these beautiful roses with a card. That just about made my day! When I got home from work (at 6:00) we went around to about 5 different resturants because by the time I got off work everything was so crowded.... But we ended up eating at Sauce and it was delicious! I don't mean to be the cheesy wife, but I am just so grateful for Bruce and for his friendship. He is just about the best friend a girl could ever have. I love you with all my heart baby!!!
Happy Valentines Day

Bruce's Test...

So Bruce went to school on Thursday and his teacher told the class they had a pop quiz. He began passing this test out... Answer the questions before you look at the answers.

1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?
2. How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?
3. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference, all the animals attend except one. Which animal does not attend?
4. There is a river you must cross, but it is inhabited by crocodiles... How do you manage to get across it?

As the students went on to read the questions the teacher started laughing and said you might be suprised to know that this test is hard for you and I and you probably won't get any of the questions right, but when it was given to many preschoolers the got several correct answers.
So Bruce got home and read it to me, and I will be honest...I didn't get any right, I thought way to much about the answers... Here are the answers!

1. Open the refrigerator, put the giraffe in and close the door. (this question tests whether or not you do simple things in a overly complicated way)
2. Open the refrigerator, take the giraffe out, put the elephant in, and close the door. (this question tests your ability to think through a repercussion of your actions)
3. The Elephant. The Elephant is still in the refrigerator. (this question tests your memory)
4. You swim across. All the crocodiles are at the animal meeting. (this question tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.)

I personally thought this was intersting so I decided to share it with everyone! How did you do????

Hunting Part 1

Well at this point in my life I am asking myself what was I thinking???? Haha let me explain... About 3 weeks ago Bruce went up to Pine with his dad. While they were up there they started talking to some friends that said that they know where some BIG BULLS (elk) are that we could go buy a tag over the counter and hunt (this is "a big deal" because usually you have to get drawn to hunt elk and this could take years to get drawn, but right now you can buy a tag over the counter and hunt it) so Bruce got the bright idea that he wanted to go on a hunt and try to get an elk. Well one night we were talking and he asked me if I would want to go on my 4-day weekend (this coming weekend) and try to get an elk with him. As I was debating this in my mind I was thinking that I really wanted to spend some qualitity time with Bruce and I decided that I needed to be a good little wife and embrace my husbands hobby cause we all know he wouldn't be caught dead scrapbooking! So I told him I would go. So since then Bruce has been planning "our hunt" and he decided that I am going to be the one shooting and he is just going to be there to supervise... Lucky me! haha... I mean I have grown up in a hunting family and I have nothing against hunting, I am glad that Bruce loves it...But I can just picture myself coming aross a huge elk and getting ready to shoot it and then yelling RUN ELK!!! Run as fast as you can because I am about to shoot you!!! Then I could see Bruce looking at me like please tell me you did not just do that! So this last weekend we went to the gun range and practiced shooting the gun that I will use if I can get myself to shoot this poor innocent animal... It was a .300 Mag (to be honest a gun is a gun to me, but Bruce says this is the best gun out there and alot of people are afraid to shoot it cause it's such a powerful gun) Bruce shot it first and I was standing behind him and when he shot, the gun was so dang loud it FREAKED me out... I have not heard a gun that loud before...I was honestly afraid to shoot it and I told Bruce there is no way he would ever get me to shoot that gun. Well he ending up talking me into it... It was fun! I have shot many guns before but it was fun to be able to go with Bruce and do something he loves....We will just have to wait and see how this weekend goes...

...be ready to hear about part 2 after this weekend...it should be intersting!!!!

The Election

Okay can I just tell you that Bruce is beyond OBSESSED with the election this year! Everyday when he gets home the first thing he does is turn on the tv (we are so grateful for the election channel....NOT!) Haha. It has gotten so bad that if there is an election, and it is not on t.v. he will get online and watch it on the computer. Don't get me wrong, I support the election and I like to know what is going on....but you can only know so much, you know? It just makes me laugh I like to joke around and make fun of him about it. All he says is, "Sweetie, I can't help it I love politics!" I guess whatever makes him happy huh? haha The funny thing is he has never even thought twice about politics until this year!

President Gordon B. Hinckley

We are so sad that President Hinckley has passed away tonight. I know it has been a long awaited moment for him, because I am sure he missed his wife so much...But I wasn't ready to see him go. He has helped me so much in my life and I am so grateful for him. He has been the most amazing role model, with the cutest sense of humor and has done so many wonderful things for our church. We were over at my parents house when we got the phone call and it was such a sad time. He has truly touched my life and I know without a doubt that he was a faithful servant to our Lord. President Hinckley will always be remembered, and will be missed!

Obsession

Okay So I am sure you guys have all heard about the Twilight books. Well I LOVE reading and have heard about these books forever, but I always thought they sounded stupid. I mean who would want to read about Vampires and Werewolf's? Well I decided to give these books a try and I am obsessed! They are so much more then Vampires and Werewolf's!!! They are such amazing books. Can I just tell you that I finished the first one in 3 days and the second one in a day and a half. Keep in mind that each book is at least 600 pages long. They are so good. So I am starting the third one today and I am so excited! Honestly, If you haven't read these books, try them...Even if you don't like reading you'll really enjoy these. They are such an amazing combination of love, suspense, and intensity. You honestly will not be able to stop....

I am so eager to see what happens in number 3, and I can hardly wait for number 4 to come out this fall!

Cousins Party!

Last Wednesday all my cousin's on the Riggs side got together and had a cousin's party. It was at our grandparents house and we had a blast. Not all of us were there (my little brother Colton, and my Cousin Jodi) but we had a lot of fun. We started out playing the game Pyramid as couples and it was fun. My cousin Jenny planned it all and she did such a good job, she had a prize for everything! After that we all got together and had four tables of Bunco going and that was so much fun! Bruce and I found our new favorite game. We all got so into Bunco that none of us wanted to stop playing it. After Bunco we played a game where you all sit in the circle and there is a present in the middle along with a hat, a vest, and gloves... Well we passed dice around on a plate and anytime you got doubles you had to run in the middle put all the clothes on and unwrap that gift. The gift contained about 15 boxes and all of them were wrapped different, some had saran wrap, some had tape etc. The night ended up being so much fun and we are so excited for our next one!
