opening presents with mommy and daddy!

When Bristyn woke up on her birthday I swear someone whispered in her ear... It's your birthday!! Because she was so happy and excited right off the bat.  It was adorable.  I was kinda nervous because I didn't know if she was going to get into opening presents.. but she loved it!  She totally got into it and it was adorable to see how excited she was!  

P.s. Please excuse my beautiful curtains (the random blankets hanging over the windows) I'm still looking for the perfect ones :)

Bristyn's had a BIRTHDAY shout hooray!!

Well the day has finally arrived and our little angel girl is officially one!!!  This is such an emotional thing for me.. just the other night we were going through all her clothes and it amazed me how tiny she use to be.  Oh how I love our baby girl!!!

Our little angel made her grand entrance on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 8:34am.  It was a precious moment that we could have never imagined, and we thank our Father in Heaven daily for blessing us with one of his sweet spirits.  She was and is well worth the wait we had for her..  Oh how I love being her mommy!  Every single day she amazes me more and more with what she knows or does.. She is incredibly smart and keeps us laughing all day long.  I am sitting here speechless because my love for her is just so strong... It brings tears to my eyes knowing that I get her for eternity.  I never thought I would love being a mother so much, but Bristyn makes it so easy.  She is the sweetest, best little girl in the world.  Hearing her jibber jabber, watching her have "urges," cuddling with her (when she will let us), seeing her cheesy smile, it all makes any bad day better.  She is seriously the best thing that ever happened to us and I could never imagine our life without her.  

At one year:

-loves peanut butter and homemade jelly, meat (especially roast), peas, blueberries, oranges, pancakes (without syrup), macaroni and cheese, and anything sweet.. but she doesn't get it very often!

-eats almost everything.. 

-has 7 teeth! She has gotten 5 teeth in the last week.  Poor girl!

-Loves her "bunny fue fue"

-Still takes 2 naps and sleeps through the night

-Is a major mama's girl! I love it!

-walks like a champ.. she is getting fast! 

-loves being outside!

-loves watching and being around little kids
-can point out eyes, nose, and mouth.. 

-wears 18 month clothes
-size 4 shoe and diapers

has it really been a year????

One year ago today I started my day like I did any other day being 9 months pregnant.  Bruce was selling alarms out in Glendale so I hitched a ride with my parents out there because they were going to visit my brother Rocky.. We went out there and the first thing my brother Rocky said to me was... "Hmmm, you look a little different today!"  and I said, "what do you mean???"  and he goes, "well I think you are going to go into labor soon because you look extra fat in the face!"  Haha little did I know, my brother was very right!  We hung out there for awhile then Bruce got off work and we went to the outdoor mall that was right by their apartment and walked around.. I was exhausted!  We then got in my dad's bumpy chevy (he should drive a ford haha) and drove home.  When we got home my mom and Bruce were making fun of me by saying I was going to go way past my due date because I had no signs what-so-ever of going into labor.. I wasn't dilated at all, and I had no signs of contractions.  I told them I would prove them wrong and went and packed my hospital bag hoping I would prove them wrong!  Bruce and I went to dinner with our good friends JJ and Christanie at Carrabbas.. We came home from dinner and I decided to take a bath and relax.  When I got out of the bath Bruce and I went in and layed in bed to watch some of our shows... and I proved him wrong.. I went into labor!!!!!!  I had Bristyn one day shy of 39 weeks!  Woohoo :)  Bruce and I drove to the hospital and it was a very long night, but 10-11 short hours later our little angel arrived and changed our lives for the better!!!  

funny girl!

My sister in law made this cute stroller for Bristyn and gave it to me at my baby shower... I have kept it from her for awhile because I didn't want her to break it, but I decided to give it to her today... Oh my goodness she was so excited and pushed it all around.. Well I went in the other room to clean and I could hear her playing when all of a sudden she started crying so I went in to see what happened and she was sitting in the stroller and couldn't get out.  Bristyn LOVES getting inside things, its hilarious because she always tries to sit in her toys.  I walk in laughing and she was so mad because I wouldn't help her out.. I had to hurry and get Bruce!  After we took her out Bruce started playing with her and now she loves it!  She thought it was hilarious to push Auggie around.. Let me just tell you, this girl is seriously hilarious and keeps us laughing all day long!

chairs

Bristyn is obsessed with little chairs.. Every single time we go over to my parents she makes us drag a couple chairs in the family room and she goes back and forth on them.  She loves them!!  We seriously have quite the little dare devil on our hands.. She freaks me out every time I turn around but she has so much fun!

Park

We went to the park today and Bristyn LOVED it!  She was laughing so hard as we were swinging her and it totally melted my heart.  Then she let her go down the slide a couple times... and her favorite part was being able to explore in the field just off of the park.  She loves walking around outside.. I am pretty sure its her favorite thing to do!  I love this little girl so much :)

Mall

Today Bris and I went to the mall with my Mom because she wanted to get some stuff for Bristyn's birthday.  She was hilarious!  She is a girl that loves to get comfy... She loves to kick her legs up and relax.. but if anyone knows her they know she only relaxes for less than a second.  I gave her a bottle and she immediately put her foot up and enjoyed herself.. it was hilarious.  Then my mom gave her a cute stuffed bunny and she would not stop hugging it!  When I say she is crazy.. that's an understatement... The girl does not sit still, I am so exhausted by the end of each day... but I love it.. I love how sweet she is, and her funny little personality.  She has the smile that kills me every time.  Towards the end of our mall trip I let her out of the stroller and let her walk around as I held her hand and you would thing it was Christmas.. She was on cloud 9!  I just love our sweet girl so much, and I am so grateful to be her mom!!!

a little update!

Wow, it has been awhile since I updated...  I have been horrible at taking pictures lately too. its kinda sad!  Bristyn is growing up WAY too fast.. Bruce and I were talking yesterday about how we feel like everyday she grows up so much.  Just the other day I had a lady ask me if she was 18 or 19 months...and when I told her she was only 11 1/2 she thought I was lying.  

Bruce has been busy working and getting this ready for yet another summer adventure and I am busy chasing after our crazy daughter!  I swear everyday she gets crazier..  The girl does NOT sit still for longer than a minute.. when she comes to you, you gotta take advantage of it because she is gone as fast as she comes.  And don't worry she already has quite the sass and isn't afraid to yell at you if you are making her mad.  Its sad that I think its hilarious!   Her absolute favorite thing lately is to go outside and walk around in the front yard...  The second our front door opens she runs to the door.  

I will say, my favorite part of the day is before she goes to sleep... I carry her to her bed, and she will wrap her arms and legs around me and rest her head on my chest until I lay her down.  It is the most precious moment of my day, and she seriously melts my heart.  

I'm not gonna lie, I am getting kinda excited for the summer, we have a couple friends going this summer and it will be so much fun!  But at the same time I am dreading it... I have loved having Bruce all to myself and spending so much time together... and the thought of hardly seeing him for 6 months makes me sad... at least it is all worth it in the end!

The other day we were over at Bruce's parents house because his aunts were in town... Rhett got his quad out and they had a blast taking turns on it!  It was so cute to see them get on it together..  

1 year photo shoot!

We did Bristyn's one year photo shoot a couple days ago and it was so much fun!  She is seriously hilarious!!!  We started out and she just wanted to walk around, so we followed her.. tried putting her on a bench.. then she would climb of, and walk some more..  Then she had a melt down so we decided to do the cupcake.  All I can say is WOW!  Haha..  First she does a face plant into it and I had to pull it away from her and get the candle out.  The second I set the cupcake back down she picked it up and stuffed it in her face.. She ate the ENTIRE cupcake and thoroughly enjoyed it.  We were dying laughing.  Once the cupcake was completely gone she somehow got her foot up on the try and noticed the cupcake was on her feet, so she started eating her feet.  Seriously it was a priceless moment, and I am so grateful we caught it all on camera.  I just love this little angel so much, she seriously brings so much joy into our lives!!!
