On March 10th I found out I was pregnant!! We were totally taken by surprise and so excited. I was late for my period but thought it was because I had just been so sick and maybe it threw my cycle off but went and bought a test anyways. To my surprise I was pregnant! I hurried up and rushed in and showed Bruce the test and I think he was more shocked then I was.. We had talked about getting ready to start trying again, but hadn't officially started trying so we really lucked out! The pregnancy was great, I was my normal extra tired but wasn't nauseous and just felt good. I went in for my 6 week appointment and everything looked good.. but exactly one week later I started spotting.. I called the Dr. and they had me in for an ultrasound and everything looked great. We found a heartbeat.. the baby was up high.. and the lining around my uterus was really thick. The ultrasound tech sent me home and said if I keep bleeding and start worrying to come back. Tuesday the bleeding picked up, but I wasn't cramping and still felt good about it. She saw where I had bled from and said I still had more blood that would come and things should be okay. When I woke up Wednesday I started cramping slightly and I was still bleeding alot and I just didn't feel good about it anymore.. I called and they got me in right away.. When I went in for the ultrasound she put it on my stomach really fast and then told me she wanted to do one that goes inside me to get a better look and to go empty my bladder.. She followed me back there and kept going towards Dr. Huffs office so I knew something was wrong.. She can't tell me when something is wrong, he has to. When I got back in they knew right away that I had already lost the baby. Dr. Huff was so sweet about it.. but I instantly started crying. He told me I had alot of build up in there and that he would feel better if I went in and got a d&c.. They scheduled me the next morning (march 31st) and everything was done. Being an emotional wreck was an understatement. But I knew I had to be strong for my kids.. Bristyn was so excited to have a new baby and just knew it was a sister.. so it killed me to have to tell her that it wasn't going to happen anymore. She cried but we just explained that our baby was too special for earth and that Heavenly Father needed it in heaven. Having a miscarriage before I thought it would be a little bit easier.. But its not. There are days that are soooooo hard. Thankfully as time goes on it gets a little bit easier, and we just pray we will be able to have another sweet baby again soon. It's funny how bad you want something when its gone. I think the hardest part with it all is hearing the heartbeat, and then 2 days later being told it was gone. It was sooo hard!! Life goes on and I am so grateful for eternal families.
